for the five people that ome to my site everyday im sorry for not posting yesterday. It was an eventful day personally. So i started to tear the motor apart and i noticed some key things. one the bearings all look good, two there is some light light scuffing on the cylinder walls, and three they really put this crank bolt on tight (181lbs to be exact) once again here are some photos!!
Well the last and final day, finally removed the motor. guess what was keeping it in? The clutch fork! i didn't know in s2000s it actually just pops off. Ive never experienced that before. any who here are some photos :) stay tuned for the tear down!! Oh yeah my exhaust from the header back only weights 12.8 lbs :) and all the springs in my clutch disk are loose :/
So i tried pulling the trans and motor out as a unit for 2 reasons. the first is i cant reach one bolt on the trans no matter what i do. the second is i cant get the clutch fork out either. So i started to do this today and i'm finding out that it is not easy, at all! oh well i already started to late to turn back now! :)
Thanks to me getting up way to early thise morning (430am). i went to sleep on accident mid day . so i only spent about 2 hours in the garage today (combined). I did not get much done to be honest how ever it does look like i did. I still can't find the stupid starter bolt, honda engineers did not care to put those in a reachable area. I would be out there right now but all my shops lights seem to have blown bulbs. So i'm here sitting on my ass writing blog posts. terrible i know, so stop shaking your head at me! Well i guess i can go into detail about what i did, cut off the bolts for the drive shaft, removed drive shaft, disconnected any of the remaining connectors i could see, drop the sub frame about 2 inches (need to go lower just a tad bit) remove all the lower trans bolts, removed the slave cylinder, removed A/C system, removed radiator (for now). That is it for now, i will resume tomorrow maybe even tonight if i can get some bulbs. :)
unfortunetly my oil cooler line came loose and i lost 5 quarts of oil. before i got home. Of course i Fucked something up, i spun a bearing. I dont know which one yet because i havent pulled the motor. I could have just pulled the oil pan but why do that when the entire motor needs to come out anyway. So started that today :) I have gotten a lot of work done and i haven't touched my hammer or cutting wheel. This is rare for me usually its "fuck that thats not coming out lets just cut it out" or "man thats not fitting, lets make it fatt *bam bam bam*" lol all in all a good day, here are some photos ill be going back out there in a few minutes to finish up i want to at least get the trans out tonight :) the first photo is of my emergency cam angle sensor fix, that i never fixed lol thanks again mr.scoot, in one of the other photos you can see my cracked map sensor which also caused me problems. and second to last you can see the criminal of the rod knock (oil cooler). all in all ill be back in no time ( i hope lol)
Well the GTA chase has become a dream now, trying to raise 4k in 20 days seems impossible like there isnt anything i can do really, i dont have the money and now that my motor has spun a bearing, its proven that it hates me so why shouldnt the world hate me to. I know its far fetch to even imagine ppl will open up there wallets to stranger but its worth a shot, my donation thing is here http://www.gofundme.com/2k8zbk but if your reading this i actually appreciate the fact that you took the time to read this.
Like it says installed brake ducts on the s2000. finally. So here are some photos i took through out the process. Im not going to do a step by step of it, i used a common one from searching s2000 brake ducts. well enjoy :) oh yeah and my destroyed splitter lol
