Gridlife has been circled on my calendar all year. It's one of those can't miss type of events. Last year I experienced more fun at Gridlife than when I went to global time attack/ Formula D at road Atlanta. Last year I was only representing Ninelives Racing by myself, but this year I had a strong team behind me!
We arrived Thursday night in the dark trying to reserve 6 spots for my late teammates. Let's simply say that sucked. Friday was our first practice in time attack. I was more excited for the new decals I was going to place on the car. Not to mention I did not get much rest due to sleeping in a Honda Fit, all night with the seat almost straight up.
In practice, I discovered I was having a terrible time finding grip. My team mate Adam was also having sputtering under load problems. My other team mate Ryan was also having problems finding grip, For some reason he thought having 9 year old NT01s were a good idea.
We knew going into this event that it might rain on Saturday well checking the weather Friday after practice and qualifying we knew it was going to rain Saturday with no uncertainty. It all started on Friday..... And continued that way all day Saturday. That stopped Adam from running since he only had slicks. Ryan, Thomas, and myself went out pretty much for fun. Rain dancing is one of my favorite things to do! You can always practice car control, right?
I was the second fastest in class as it dried up Saturday for maybe an hour, then guess what the rain started once more and was absolutely worse. So we were kind of glad the day was over.
The one thing about Gridlife is the music concert for two out of the three days and the rain wasn't going to stop those hardcore concert people.
As Sunday dawned on us we knew it was going to be the day to be fast. With only two sessions of 13 minutes a piece we knew that we had to be on point every lap. I couldn't manage to keep off some fast competition to keep second and fail to 6th, but my team mates Ryan and Thomas managed to place third in their classes.

Thomas didn't want to take this photo but it doesn't matter cause I'm the boss (just kidding). He also took third in the biggest class at Gridlife which is HPDE+ RWD
Another great weekend at Gridlife regardless of weather and I can't wait for the next one At the end of this month!
We think our friends from the North had a great time, can you tell?
Special Thanks to!
